Open Show
21st April 2007
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge at their April Open Breed Show. I had a most enjoyable day. Thank you also to Irene my steward, and to David and Heather for their hospitality. I thank the people who entered the show, and the exhibitors who attended the show and gave me the opportunity to go over their dogs. Verbal critiques were given to the exhibitors. I found only one tooth fault and thought the overall quality of the dogs presented was excellent.
MPD (2e)
1st Gibson’s Oggi Vom Jorrocks (Korzwin Vito x Lottie Trottalong).
8mths black and gold upper medium size strong male with good pigmentation. He has a medium strong expressive head. Very good breed type displaying harmonious proportions. Normal wither, firm back and good length and lay of croup. Upper arm could be better angled but is of good length. His hind angulation is good. Viewed front and rear standing and coming and going he is okay. He moves with a well-balanced ground-covering gait showing very good forehand reach and hind drive. He put in a very good performance to take best puppy dog, just having the edge on the puppy dog winner for overall firmness on the day. BPD
2nd Hughes’s Langfaulds Grolsch (Zampano von der Piste Trophe x Langfaulds Vanity) 8mths black and gold large male of good strength. Good breed type slightly short in proportions at this stage. He has a medium strength head with a dark eye and alert expression. His ears could be firmer. Good withers, a firm back and a slightly short and steep croup. Upper arm is of correct length but could be better laid. Good hind angulation with slightly long lower thigh. His tail is a shade overlong and twists to compensate. Stands and steps correct at front and rear. He high steps a little on the walk but when asked to extend he displays a balanced well co-ordinated gait.
PD (1e)
1st Davidson, Kennish, Bretherton & Gray’s Arochia Ando (Andrjuscha van Noort x Chiara Cita) 10mths black and tan well-pigmented over medium size male of good strength. Upper arm is long and could be better laid. He has good hindquarter angulations. Stands correct front and rear. He exhibits puppy looseness coming and going. He has a good walk and a well-balanced gait. I thought he would be my best puppy dog but his overall ligamentation shows some looseness at this stage which should tighten up as he matures, then I would expect him to be up there with the best as he is a quality youngster.
